India-born artist, Ishita Bandyo, moved to the United States in 2000. She wanted to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming an artist, and to that end, started classes at various local art guilds. Notable among them are The Greenwich Art Society and Silvermine Art Guild. She completed her BFA in 2007 from the Lyme Academy College of Fine Ar (Studio Arts and Art History).
Ishita feels her mission in life is to connect with others through her art which is characterized by her use of vibrant color and bold compositions. Her mixed media collages are often text-based which allows her to express more than either images or words can alone. She lives in Branford, Connecticut near New Haven, a city known for its vibrant art scene. She is represented by the Maple and Main Gallery in Chester, CT and is a Guest artist at IMAGO Gallery (Warren, Rhode Island). She teaches at the Guilford Art Center.
